I would like to take this opportunity to endorse a product: Diorshow Unlimited Mascara.
I have never had good luck with premium brand mascaras. Everything I’ve tried, from Lancome to Yves Saint Laurent to Benefit Bad Gal Lash, and everything in between, has been disappointing. They’ve never been any better than drugstore brands. Drugstore brands suck too. They just suck for less money. I’ve heard good things about Diorshow mascaras, but I’m not inclined to believe what I read on the internet about beauty products. Too many eyelash variations out there to assume my experience will match the majority of reviewers. And I am much too jaded to believe any company marketing description. But there I was at Sephora, picking up my free birthday gift, and while browsing for ways to spend money, I was schooled on mascaras by a fantastic man with well-applied foundation, eyeliner and eyelash extensions. Yes, I will take the opinion of a gay man who wears makeup over that of a random female every time.
I have short, sparse eyelashes, and the big brush of a regular applicator is too big to cover every lash without making a huge mess. The Diorshow Ultimate brush is small and delicate with lots of bristles and a flat side which makes it so much easier to get in close and coat everything. There’s no gimmicky pre-application white goo, no outrageous claims of doubling the length and width of your lashes; just a simple mascara that easily maneuvers to nicely coat every lash, giving them a bit of curl and keeping them separate and very un-spider like, even with two coats. I’ve fought the white goo/spider-like lash combo for years. So glad that battle’s over. I’ve decided to embrace my short, sparse, less-than-perfect lashes, now that I’ve found a mascara that enhances them perfectly.
